Frequently Asked Questions

Mould removal, water leakage, insurance and emergency response, answered for Singapore homes and businesses.

About our service

DRS handles the full range of disaster restoration in Singapore: fire and soot damage, flood and water damage, mould remediation, trauma and biohazard cleanup, chemical disaster recovery, equipment and electronics restoration, duct cleaning, foul-odour treatment and full reinstatement. If your home or business has been damaged, we can usually help restore it toward its pre-loss condition.

Mould removal

Mould treatment in Singapore typically runs from around S$168 for a small ceiling disinfection up to S$1,500 to S$3,500+ for larger or severe cases, depending on area, surface and severity. DRS gives a clear on-site assessment and quote before any work begins.

Water leakage

As a general rule water travels downward, so the upstairs owner is usually presumed responsible unless proven otherwise, while leaks from common property (shared risers, roof, external walls) fall to the MCST or town council. Notify your neighbour and the MCST or HDB and investigate the source together. DRS can dry the affected unit fast and document the cause to help resolve the cost-sharing.

Fire & smoke

Smoke odour soaks into walls, fabrics, contents and ducting, so air fresheners only mask it. DRS removes the soot first, then neutralises the smoke odour at its source using professional techniques and air scrubbers, rather than covering it up.

Trauma & biohazard

Call certified biohazard and trauma cleaners whenever there's blood, bodily fluids, decomposition odour or biohazard contamination, as it requires proper containment, disinfection and disposal. DRS provides discreet, respectful 24/7 trauma and crime-scene cleanup. Call 6241 9443 for confidential help.

Odour & air quality

Air fresheners only mask odours, because the molecules are trapped in materials, fabrics and HVAC. DRS neutralises odour at source with professional techniques and air scrubbers, whether from water damage, bacteria, decomposition or pet stains.

Insurance

It depends on your policy. HDB Fire Insurance (via Etiqa) covers reinstating HDB-built internal structures, fixtures and fittings, and burst-pipe or adjoining-unit fire water damage, but not your renovations, furniture or belongings, which need separate home-contents insurance. DRS provides detailed reports and photos that help your claim go through.

Emergency response & process

DRS runs a 24/7 emergency line and mobilises fast, because water and mould damage escalate by the hour. Our standby team and Singapore's largest restoration-equipment inventory let us respond day or night, including weekends and public holidays. Call 6241 9443 or WhatsApp 9222 9222.
